Course Description

This course involves the art of creating assets for use in games. Emphasis will be on modeling and texturing. The course is primarily designed for intermediate users that already know the basics of 3D art; those aspiring to learn professional techniques for 3D environment art. However, beginners may also greatly benefit from this course. Students will be tasked with creating environment assets using Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, and Substance (Designer and Bitmap2Material) for the creation of materials and textures. Tasks involved include, but are not limited to, modeling, sculpting, texturing, etc. By the end of the course, students will know how to model assets and texture them. Students are responsible for providing themselves with access to hardware and any software required for the duration of the course.
