Course Description

In this online tutorial, you will learn to create detailed simulations of ink flowing through water, using the Pyro Solver. The tutorial goes from conception to compositing and it will teach you how to render your effects, both with Mantra and Arnold Render.
Additionally, it will teach you to create particles and advect them with the resulting Pyro simulation, which result in realistic moving bubbles, that will greatly enhance your final render. Throughout the tutorial, you will learn many useful tips and techniques, like creating colored volumes, rendering depth of field, sourcing particles with density volumes, creating Arnold shaders and lights, compositing layers with the Houdini compositing environment and more.

After completing the tutorial, you will have rendered two very realistic and eye-catching simulations, and will be comfortable creating colored volumes using Houdini’s powerful Pyro Solver and have a good overview of the entire process of creating an entire effect from start to finish, all within Houdini.
